Our story

TRIPS (Trip Rate based Integrated Planning System) was created to fill the critical gaps in Australia’s transport planning landscape. We saw the need for a centralised, policy-backed database that offers up-to-date and comprehensive trip and parking generation data across all land use types.

Current data sources are fragmented, outdated, and often miss the mark on encouraging sustainable transport solutions. With TRIPS, we aim to change that by providing engineers, planners, developers, and policymakers with the tools they need to make data-driven, evidence-based decisions that truly reflect the needs of modern, sustainable cities.

At TRIPS, our vision is to facilitate the transition away from car-centric planning towards a mobility-as-a-whole perspective. We believe in creating transport planning solutions that consider all users—pedestrians, cyclists, public transport users, and micromobility options—ensuring cities are more sustainable, efficient, and accessible for all.

Bridging the Gaps in Transport Planning and Engineering

Streamlined data

Up to date, large data samples

TRIPS will establish the much-needed centralized database for trip and parking data, streamlining access and supporting better decision-making.

Up to date, large data samples

Current data is often outdated or based on small samples focused mainly on vehicles. By incorporating comprehensive data on pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users, TRIPS will support more balanced, multi-modal transport planning.
